Shay Miller

Shay is an associate in Ogier's Cayman Islands Dispute Resolution team, with experience in complex commercial litigation, corporate and shareholder disputes, investment fund disputes, fraud and contentious insolvency. He has been involved in significant cross-border proceedings before the Cayman Islands Grand Court and Court of Appeal.

Background and experience

Shay has been involved in several significant Cayman Islands proceedings, including the Abraaj litigation at first instance and on appeal, the Kuwait Ports Authority / Port Fund litigation, and the Tianrui / China Shanshui shareholder dispute.

In addition to his dispute resolution practice, Shay works closely with Ogier's Cayman Local Legal Services team, assisting local businesses on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

Shay joined Ogier as a paralegal and completed his articles of clerkship with the firm, rotating through Investment Funds, Banking and Finance, Corporate and Dispute Resolution. He was admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar in September 2026. Previously, he gained experience in commercial litigation, contentious insolvency, investment fund disputes, mortgage enforcement and criminal defence.

Shay studied at Truman Bodden Law School in the Cayman Islands, obtaining an LLB awarded by the University of Liverpool in 2023 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice awarded by Oxford Brookes University in 2024. He previously studied Business Administration at Brock University.
