Ogier's Corporate teams in the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong separately advised Globalink Investment Inc, a Delaware special purpose acquisition company (SPAC), and Malaysia-based biotechnology company Alps Life Sciences Inc on their business combination with an estimated enterprise value of US$1.6 billion.
The business combination closed on 28 October 2025 and was effected as a two-step merger. The ordinary shares of the surviving publicly traded company are listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ALPS.
Ogier's Cayman-based team advised Globalink and was led by partner Cynthia Anandajayasekeram with support from senior associate Ali Pasley and associate Mike Azarnikow. In Hong Kong, Cayman counsel was provided to Alps by partner Rachel Huang and legal manager Chloe Yip.
Rachel said: "Working with our colleagues in Cayman, this transaction showcases our strength in managing innovative and complex cross-border business combinations."
Cynthia said: "Our team provides SPAC and de-SPAC services to clients across every time zone, delivering targeted advice.
"Being able to advise both Globalink and Alps on this transaction through dedicated Ogier teams exemplifies our firm's integrated approach and efficiency.
"Our ability to provide coordinated, specialised support to both SPAC and target clients within a single firm ensures streamlined processes, timely delivery and solutions tailored to each client's strategic objectives."
