Cynthia has extensive experience representing buyers, sellers and private equity sponsors across a number of industries including such specialised industries as banking and financial services, asset management, real estate, oil and gas, media, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, logistics and aviation. Clients value Cynthia's positive "can do" attitude, and describe her as "a real team player, technically excellent, proactive, commercial and calm under fire".
Cynthia previously worked at Ogier in the Cayman Islands and advised on several high profile matters including Cayman National's response to the tender offer by Republic Bank to acquire up to 74.99% of its issued share capital – first transaction of its kind in the jurisdiction. Prior to re-joining Ogier, Cynthia worked at leading global law firms in Melbourne (2019-2021), New York (2014-2018) and Sydney (2010-2014).
Cynthia was awarded the National Undergraduate Scholarship for academic excellence to attend the Australian National University, where she completed her Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) in 2010.
Cynthia is passionate about driving diversity and inclusion initiatives in the legal profession, and is regularly a speaker on those topics. While in New York, she was appointed to the Young Lawyers Committee of the global Women in Law Empowerment Forum. Most recently, she has been invited to participate in various panel discussions on diversity and inclusion for the Law Institute of Victoria and ABC Radio National's Law Report.
