Ogier Trusts Advisory Group Panel Discussion - November 2025

The Trusts Advisory Group Panel Discussion will take place on Thursday 20 November at the Ogier offices in Jersey.

The session will be chaired by Rebecca McNulty and the discussion led by Oliver Passmore, partners in our Dispute Resolution team. The panel will consider the following topics:  

Breach of duty claims against directors of private trust companies

Senior Associate Matthew Davies will summarise the recent judgment of the Royal Court in Halabi v Farrow & Ors where Ogier successfully acted for the Defendants (all former directors of a private trust company) in an application for strike out and summary judgment of wide-ranging breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Blessing momentous trustee decisions: The court’s role and recent developments

Managing Associate Sam Hoare and Senior Associate Ralph Spencer-Tucker will compare how the Courts in the Channel Islands approach applications for judicial blessing of significant trustee decisions. They will consider recent cases concerning applications made by protectors and beneficiaries, the limits of court intervention, and emerging trends in this important area of trust law.

A light breakfast will be served prior to the seminar, offering an opportunity to network. Please note that attendance at this seminar may be eligible for one CPD hour.
