Bryan De Verneuil-Smith and Fay Warrilow will be presenting at the STEP Guernsey Lecture Series on Injunctions in the Trust Field.

In essence, an injunction is a court order requiring a person to do or (most commonly) not to do something. Yet that simple definition belies great complexity: wide-ranging in nature and context, injunctions are a fascinating and often fast-moving area of law which practitioners may well encounter in the course of their work.

In the trust setting, they are often used to preserve or recover assets in cases of fraud, but that is not their only application. This talk will consider examples of injunctions in Guernsey generally, then focus on injunctions in the trust context – how to respond to them and, indeed, how to bring them.
