To celebrate Pride Month, Ogier in Guernsey organised a bake sale to raise funds for LGBTQ+ charity Liberate.

Organised by Henry Simpson and Sammie Smith from Ogier in Guernsey's Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee, the event raised more than £500 for the local charity, which campaigns and educates on a wide range of LGBTQ+ issues.

Bakers cooked up a mix of sweet and savoury rainbow-themed treats and Ogier made a contribution for every participant. An accompanying quiz asked people to identify the array of flags used to represent the different identities within the LGBTQ+ community and raised awareness about the countries around the world which still criminalise LGBTQ+ people in some way.

Henry said: "It was fantastic to see everyone support the Pride Bake Sale and help make it a success. We're delighted to be able to donate these funds to Liberate, who not only educate and inform on a wide range of LGBTQ+ issues, but also campaign to reform laws and policies to ensure LGBTQ+ people can enjoy the same freedoms as everyone else in the Channel Islands."

Partner Christopher Jones added: "D&I is an integral part of Ogier's purpose and vision. We believe in nurturing a culture where people of all backgrounds and characteristics feel at home and have equal opportunity to succeed, and we are committed to supporting diversity and inclusion in the communities in which we operate."

Ogier's D&I initiative aims to create an inclusive and respectful environment where every one of its employees can thrive. To help achieve this, each of its jurisdictions has a group of dedicated local D&I leaders. Read more about Ogier's D&I commitment, including its charter, here.
