Ogier’s "seasoned lawyers" shine in Chambers Asia Pacific 2026

Ogier’s lawyers in Hong Kong have been praised for their responsiveness, Chinese capabilities and "efficient execution" in Chambers’ latest Asia Pacific rankings.  

Eight Ogier partners have been recognised within the guide, including five from Ogier’s corporate, finance and investment funds practices and three experts in offshore disputes.

Recognition for Ogier in Hong Kong 

Ogier’s global head of Corporate, Nathan Powell, who maintains his top tier ranking, is described as "the ultimate and final authority on all matters Cayman and BVI law in Hong Kong" with "one of the sharpest legal brains in the market".  

From the Banking and Finance team, partner Anthony Oakes stands out as one of "the best in the offshore debt finance market". Partner David Nelson has progressed in the rankings and is described by clients as a "great lawyer", "knowledgeable, calm under pressure and a pleasure to work with".   

From Ogier’s Investment Funds team, partner Nicholas Plowman "is an industry legend" with "excellent knowledge of the offshore space".  Partner Kate Hodson is heralded as "a good name in the market".  

Additionally, all three ranked partners from Ogier’s Dispute Resolution team have been promoted within the tiers. Justin Davis is recognised for his "strong track record of advising clients in the area of restructurings and liquidations", including cross-jurisdictional matters. Joanne Collett is praised as "a very technical and hard-working partner who you would have no qualms throwing the most funky of issues at". Meanwhile, the "truly world-class" Oliver Payne is ranked top tier – one of only two dispute resolution lawyers in the region to be recognised as such by Chambers.   

This recognition follows the 2026 edition of the Legal 500 Asia Pacific: Greater China rankings, in which Ogier’s "dynamic" team was praised for its excellence in the region.
