Ogier has appointed Alastair Lagrange as a partner in its Cayman Islands office, further strengthening the firm’s regulatory, fintech and Web3 capabilities.
Alastair has extensive experience advising on registration, licensing and change of control applications, inspections and filings with Cayman authorities, cross-border conduct of business, corporate governance and ongoing compliance with key regimes including FATCA, CRS and CARF, AML and sanctions, economic substance, data protection and beneficial ownership.
He also regularly advises on the structuring, establishment and ongoing operations of foundation companies for crypto and private wealth applications, virtual asset service providers and fintech businesses.
Alastair’s appointment follows the addition of four new partners to Ogier’s market-leading Cayman Investment Funds team in 2025 - Gemma Cowan, Jessica Crawford, Graeme Loarridge and Kirsten Lapham. The team recently received accolades including Best Law Firm – Fund Domicile, Offshore Firm of the Year, and Best Offshore Law Firm – Client Service, reflecting Ogier’s commitment to excellence and its position at the forefront of the industry for more than 25 years.
Alastair said: “I am delighted to join the Ogier partnership. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support clients in navigating an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment.”
Ogier’s Global Head of Investment Funds, Joanne Huckle, said: “We are delighted to welcome Alastair to the partnership. He brings deep experience across regulatory and compliance matters, together with significant fintech, virtual assets and transactional expertise. His appointment further enhances our ability to support clients on sophisticated Cayman Islands legal and regulatory matters.”
