Bertrand advises hedge funds, private equity, real estate and venture capital clients and multinational companies in connection with corporate and finance restructurings, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, establishment and structuring of international transactions.
Bertrand is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team. He specialises in downstream corporate advisory work and related financings. His achievements include working with CVC, RevCap, Parthena, Link and Maple Knoll Capital on numerous high profile acquisitions and disposals.
Bertrand's practice also encompasses restructuring and corporate recovery, creditor rights, insolvency and shareholder disputes. He has working experience in Belgium, England and the United States.
Bertrand is a recommended lawyer in The Legal 500 and IFLR1000 directories.
Prior to joining Ogier, Bertrand was a partner of a global elite law firm in Luxembourg and worked for a magic-circle firm in Luxembourg and London.
Bertrand is a lecturer on civil law and corporate governance at the University of Luxembourg and regularly speaks at seminars in Luxembourg on a broad range of topics. He also has been a panel member at various conferences in Asia.
He graduated with an LL.M in ICT Law and Management from the University of Namur, having previously studied law at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve and University of Saint-Louis as well. He also obtained a Master’s degree in tax from the Solvay Business School.
Bertrand is qualified in Luxembourg and England & Wales and speaks French, English and has basic knowledge of Dutch.
