Kay is an associate in Ogier's Dispute Resolution team based in Hong Kong, specialising in arbitration and general commercial litigation matters.

Background and experience

Kay obtained her Bachelor of Laws. (LL.B.) at King’s College London. Prior to joining Ogier in 2022, Kay completed her traineeship at an international law firm in Hong Kong, and joined its dispute resolution team upon her admission in 2020.

Kay specialises in commercial disputes and insolvency matters. She has represented and advised a large number of multinational corporations, as well as clients incorporated, or having business interests in, the People's Republic of China ("PRC").

Kay's recent work includes:

  • Acting for the joint liquidators of Unigroup International Holdings Ltd and Tsinghua Unigroup International Co. Ltd, the BVI incorporated subsidiaries of Tsinghua Unigroup, a prominent technology and manufacturing conglomerate headquartered in the PRC.
  • Acting for the Joint Liquidators of Three Arrows Capital Limited, one of the most prominent cryptocurrency hedge funds.
  • Representing the BVI subsidiary of a PRC manufacturing group on the restructuring of its debts through a Court-sanctioned Scheme of Arrangement.
  • Advising a director and minority shareholder of a BVI holding company in relation to a complex cross-border dispute involving ongoing arbitration proceedings, and valuable intellectual property assets, in the PRC.
  • Acting for the limited partner of a Cayman exempted limited partnership in a claim against the partnership's general partner, and other related parties, in respect of a loss of over HKD 900 million.

Kay is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and has extensive experience providing client seminars in both English and Mandarin with respect to legal practice in the BVI and Cayman Islands.
