Background and experience
Since joining Ogier in 2017 much of his practice has been focused on international and cross border M&A work. Kevin's areas of expertise include schemes of arrangement, international real estate M&A, joint ventures, private equity structures, corporate restructurings, Jersey property unit trust transactions, IPOs (primarily on the LSE), debt listings and borrower side finance work.
While Kevin works primarily with the London market and on transactions with a real estate focus, he has a broad range of international and local clients on both the vendor and buyer sides of corporate transactions. In corporate finance he works primarily on the borrower side of financing transactions, advising clients in both the private and listed space and often with an emerging markets angle.
Kevin is part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team. He specialises in various aspects of downstream corporate advisory matters, with experience in acquisitions and disposals made by private equity funds (most notably in respect of real estate), investment and shareholder agreements, bespoke articles of association and employee incentive plans. Recent examples of PE work include advising on the acquisition of a Birmingham development and advising on the acquisition of a City of London development.
Before joining Ogier in 2017, Kevin was part of ENSAfrica's corporate and commercial department (a multinational law firm), where he specialised in mergers and acquisitions, both in the listed and unlisted space, and particularly in the mineral resources and property industries – working on some of the largest transactions in the country at that time. Before joining ENSAfrica in 2011, Kevin obtained his Master's degree in law from the University of Florida, before which he graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2008 with his LLB.
