Laura O'Byrne

Laura is an associate in Ogier’s Corporate and Investment Funds team in the Cayman Islands. Laura has extensive experience advising on private equity and venture capital fund establishment, mergers and acquisitions, SPACs, private equity and venture capital transactions and complex corporate re-organisations.

Laura specialises in advising on private equity and venture capital fund establishment, mergers and acquisitions, SPACs, private equity and venture capital transactions and complex corporate reorganisations.

Laura is part of Ogier’s multi-disciplinary Private Equity team and has particular experience advising on fund formations, capital raising, LP advisory work and corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and downstream corporate advisory work.

Laura has advised crypto fund managers with all aspects of their fund launch, from structuring to regulatory matters and has advised clients in the crypto space with respect to their SAFTs, SAFEs, token purchase agreements, warrants and options grants, fund documents, incentive schemes, service agreements and other terms and conditions.

Before joining Ogier in 2021, Laura was an Associate with William Fry’s Corporate team in Dublin. During that time her work consisted primarily of transactional corporate engagements, including fund formations, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investment transactions (acting both for investors and for companies raising funding), and corporate restructurings. A graduate of Economics from Trinity College, Dublin, Laura qualified as a solicitor in both Ireland and England and Wales in 2018.
