More lawyers in Ogier's "very capable, responsive and user friendly" Hong Kong office have been recognised in the latest Legal 500 Hong Kong rankings than ever, after a busy year of complex cross-border transactional and litigation work.

Five partners in Ogier's Hong Kong office are ranked as leading individuals with recognition for 10 others.

Ogier's leading individuals are the "vastly experienced" Funds expert Nicholas Plowman, the ‘commercial, proactive and responsive’ head of Corporate Nathan Powell, Sustainable Investing and Impact funds specialist Kate Hodson, head of Dispute Resolution Oliver Payne who has "vast tactical and strategic insight" and Finance partner Anthony Oakes who is noted being "hands on, experienced and practical".

"Knowledgeable, diligent and hands on" Banking and Finance partner David Nelson is listed as a next generation partner. He is on the list of key individuals alongside Dispute Resolution partners Justin Davis, who has "many years of Caribbean litigation under his belt and is a very safe pair of hands for complex litigation", and Michael Snape, described as "knowledgeable and savvy with an excellent appreciation of how to best meet the demands of clients".

Partners Florence Chan, Cecilia Li, Lin Han and Rachel Huang, counsel David Lin, Alan Wong and managing associate Yuki Yan, have been singled out for praise this year as key individuals of the offshore and international firm's Hong Kong based legal team.

Feedback from the 2024 guide says that Ogier has excellent traction in Greater China and throughout Asia Pacific, provides "high quality offshore legal advice in a highly efficient manner", and leverages strong language skills and capability on the ground in Beijing and Shanghai, noted particularly for being "effective at advising PRC clients across a range of corporate and securities work, including advice on ECM and DCM listings on the HKSE".
