Ogier in Cayman "top of their game'" in Legal 500 Caribbean Guide 2022

Ogier's responsive, clear and commercial service coupled with its deep bench of experts makes it the firm of choice in the Cayman Islands.

That's the view of clients whose endorsement of Ogier in the latest edition of Legal 500 Caribbean Guide sees all its service lines ranked and rankings for 25 lawyers.

The "exceptional" Dispute Resolution team is praised for their "emotionally intelligent approach" and is "always impressive and considered". Global head of Dispute Resolution, "commercial, user-friendly, very experienced" Marc Kish, and "first-rate mind" Rachael Reynolds QC, are both leading individuals. Jennifer Fox is a next generation partner and "a stand-out in the contentious trusts and insolvency space." Next generation partner William Jones' "judgments and instincts are reliably correct", and Deborah Barker-Roye is ranked as a rising star in Dispute Resolution, and as a key lawyer in Private Client. Key lawyer Christopher Levers is also ranked as rising star and described as "experienced, creative, cool-headed in the face of pressure". Nour Khaleq and Gemma Lardner are key lawyers.

The Investment Funds team fields a "deep bench of experts in Cayman funds law" and makes "the Cayman side of a private fund formation seamless". Cayman practice partner James Bergstrom, and partners Nick Rogers and Giorgio Subiotto, are ranked as leading individuals, with client feedback describing Giorgio as "an expert of his field and in Brazilian capital markets as well." "Extremely responsive" Angus Davison is a leading individual in the Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice area, while James Heinicke and Mark Santangeli are both next generation partners. Tommy Tuohy is noted as a key lawyer in this space.

The Corporate and Commercial practice area is praised for its "ability to provide legal support across all areas of Cayman law" and for being "proactive in the ever-evolving regulatory landscape," with Bradley Kruger ranked as a leading individual in the category, and "helpful and resourceful". James Lydeard is a key lawyer.

The "heavy-hitting" Trusts and Private Client team, which spans both contentious and non-contentious services, retains its top-tier ranking and "is clearly top of their game". Global senior partner Rachael Reynolds QC and partner Anthony Partridge are both ranked as leading individuals, with Rachael described as "an exceptional lawyer – always top of the list for Cayman trust matters" and Anthony described as "an absolute pleasure" and an "excellent communicator". 

In the Regulatory field, Ogier is a "go-to firm for Cayman funds regulation" with a team of "problem solver extraordinaires". Martin Byers is a key lawyer.

The Real Estate offering, part of Ogier's Local Legal Services team, "delivers top-notch customer service at every level", with senior associate Cline Glidden ranked as a rising star. Sophie Warburton is a key lawyer.
